Project Overview
In November 2001, a comprehensive U.S. 33 Access Management Study was initiated
to identify feasible and prudent alternatives to eliminate the existing at-grade
intersections along this corridor. Various stakeholders of the community
participated in this study to help ODOT develop alternatives that were presented
for public review and comment. As a result of numerous meetings with the
stakeholders along with the public involvement process, five major projects were
identified which would eliminate the at-grade intersections along US33:
-
Ebright Road overpass (2006)
-
Bixby Road interchange (2007)
-
Winchester Road
"Carroll-area" interchange (under development)
-
High Street/Bowen Road overpass
(not scheduled)
-
Pickerington Road interchange
(not scheduled)
When the $145 million project is
complete, the 12-mile roadway will be a limited-access highway with interchanges
and overpasses instead of signalized intersections.
