OHIO’S
TRAVEL INFORMATION CENTERS FACTS AND FIGURES
- Ohio has 12 Travel
Information Centers (TICs) located on the major highways in the state.
A 12th TIC is located in the lower level of the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus.
- The centers are open seven
days a week from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. except for major winter holidays. The
Statehouse TIC is open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Trained and professional
travel counselors are available to assist the public in finding,
recommending and directing them to numerous destinations in Ohio.
- Three to four hundred
tourism brochures, maps and hotel discount coupons are available to the
public at no charge. Vending machines with various drinks and snack foods
are available at most of the centers.
- In 2002, more than 1.2
million people from all 50 states and dozens of countries including
Canada, Great Britain, India, Ireland, Japan, France, Germany, and Poland
visited the centers.
- Numerous travel related
information ranging from antique shops, bed & breakfasts, campgrounds,
festivals, hotels, museums, state parks, theme parks, and zoos is easily
accessible within the TICs.
- Whether you are traveling
on business or for pleasure, stop by one of Ohio’s Travel Information
Centers and discover the many things to explore in the great "Buckeye
State."
