Heath Area Crossing Repaired

State Route 79 Crossing Damaged By Wind Storm

(Columbus) – Motorists traveling busy State Route 79 South of Heath, Ohio can be assured that they’ll get adequate warning of approaching trains at the crossing with the Ohio Central Railroad.  Ice and an electrical short had damaged the crossing after a winter storm, rendering the lights and gates inoperable.

While awaiting repairs, Ohio Central Railroad crews were required to provide a flagman at the crossing each time trains would move in and out of the nearby industrial park served by the line.

Those repairs have now been made and the lights and gates are back in working order.
