COLUMBUS – The Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) has approved a $25,000 grant to WCH Molding, LLC, to assist with the $150,000 cost of building a new rail spur to serve its plant in Washington Court House.
The company will contribute the remaining $125,000 necessary to complete the project. The facility represents a $5 million investment.
WCH Molding, a subsidiary of GK Packaging, Inc., was created to develop a new blow molding plant at the Washington Court House industrial park to serve GK Packaging. GK Packaging was established in 1983 to manufacture molds and design plastic bottles and closures for health and beauty aid products.
James E. Seney, Executive Director of the ORDC, said the project will create 45 jobs and retain five existing jobs. He said the facility will generate 36 rail carloads a year. CSX Transportation, Inc, will provide rail service.
