Shelby County Railroad Crossing Improvement

James E. Seney, Executive Director of the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) requested today that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) direct CSX Transportation, Inc. to install lights and gates at the grade crossing of Township Road 1020, Main Street (U.S. DOT AAR No. 538 736 E) in Shelby County, Ohio.

The ORDC works with the PUCO to streamline railroad safety projects with installations completed within one year. The ORDC distributes $15,000,000 in federal highway funds annually to improve safety at Ohio’s rail grade crossings.

Mr. Seney, said this installation is being improved as part of a safety program conducted by the ORDC in cooperation with CSX Transportation, Inc.
