Railroad Crossing Improvements
January 7, 2002

James E. Seney, Executive Director of the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) requested today that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) direct the Columbus and Ohio River Railroad to install lights and gates at the railroad/highway grade crossings at SR 151, CR 13 and CR51 near Cadiz, Harrison County, Ohio.

The ORDC works with the PUCO to streamline railroad safety projects with installations completed within one year. The ORDC distributes $15,000,000 in federal highway funds annually to improve safety at Ohio’s rail grade crossings.

Mr. Seney, said these installations are being improved as part of a corridor program conducted by the ORDC in cooperation with Columbus and Ohio River Railroad.
