Lights and Gates to be Installed at 5 Norfolk Southern Crossings in Preble County

James E. Seney, Executive Director of the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) requested today that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) direct the Norfolk Southern Corporation to install lights and gates at the following railroad/highway grade crossings in Preble County.

PRE-C.R. 14, W. FLORENCE - CAMBELLSTOWN ROAD - NS AAR NO. 525 082 L

PRE-T.R. 137, DAILY ROAD - NS AAR NO. 525 086 N

PRE-T.R. 159, CONLEY ROAD - NS AAR NO. 525 089 J

PRE-T.R. 141, TOBY ROAD - NS AAR NO. 525 090 D

The ORDC works with the PUCO to streamline railroad safety projects with installations completed within one year. The ORDC distributes $15,000,000 in federal highway funds annually to improve safety at Ohio=s rail grade crossings.

Mr. Seney, said these installations are one of several crossings being improved as part of a corridor program conducted by the ORDC in cooperation with Norfolk Southern.
