Railroad Warning Systems to be installed at Crestview Road & SR-517 in Columbiana County |

| Following a meeting called by Representative Chuck Blasdel, Fairfield Township Trustees Robert Hume and
Fred Grappy and Crestview Schools Superintendent John Dilling presented information, James Seney, Executive Director of the Ohio Rail Development Commission announced that new flashing lights and gates would be installed at State Route 517 and at Crestview Road in the township. Director Seney stated that he had come to the meeting at the offices of the Columbiana County Port Authority at the request of Representative Blasdel in order to pursue Governor Taft's standing orders to ensure rail safety in Ohio. The cost of the new lights and gates will be approximately $300,000.00 to be paid from the Rail Commission's Federal Safety Funds. The Rail Commission in partnership with Ohio PUCO expends $15,000,000.00 per year for rail safety.
