Railroad Crossing Improvements in Columbiana County |
|
| James E. Seney, Executive
Director of the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) requested
today that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) direct the
Norfolk Southern Corporation to install lights and gates at the
grade crossing at Lynchburg Road near U.S. 30 between Minerva and
Lisbon in Columbiana County, Ohio.
The ORDC works with the PUCO to streamline railroad safety projects with installations completed within one year. The ORDC distributes $15,000,000 in federal highway funds annually to improve safety at Ohio’s rail grade crossings. |
Mr. Seney, said these
installations are being improved as part of a safety program
conducted by the ORDC in cooperation with Norfolk Southern
Corporation.
