Documentation and Critical Inspections for Items 304, 306, and 307

This section recommends minimum documentation and critical inspection requirements for Items 304, 306, and 307. All of the following documentation requirements must be recorded in the project daily reports. References to the appropriate specifications, proposals and plan notes or details for all the inspector reports are required. Specifications or other requirements waived by the Project Engineer must be noted on the daily diaries.

Item 304 Aggregate Base

1. Roller weights.
2. Lift thickness.
3. Segregation.
4. In place gradation tests according to S-1090, if required.
5. Roller passes.
6. Compaction tests according to S-1015.
7. Verify cross section and thickness.
8. Obtain weight ticket, if required.

Item 306 Cement Treated Free Draining Base

1. Verify design.
2. Ensure of compaction.
3. Check segregation and thickness.
4. Check curing.
5. Protection.

Item 307 Non- Stabilized Drainage Base

1. Verify design.
2. Segregation and thickness.
3. Gradation according to S-1090.
4. Roller weights and passes
5. Compaction according to S-1015.
